Mary Stanley is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Ability Village Magazine, where she brings together lived experiences, trusted resources, and meaningful conversations to help people feel seen, heard, and supported. Through her leadership with Ability Village, she connects individuals, families, advocates, and professionals around a shared purpose: making support easier to find, understand, and use. An Army veteran, autism and neurodiversity specialist, trauma educator, and media host, Mary brings both personal experience and professional insight to her work. As a mother of two autistic children, she understands the importance of listening, respecting different communication styles, and creating spaces where everyone belongs. Mary also founded Supportive Minds and owns Freedom Route Travel. Across her work in publishing, education, advocacy, and community collaboration, her mission remains the same: turn lived experience into meaningful action and make the impossible possible.
