I used to think learning came before doing. Learn the skill. Understand the process. Build the plan. Then execute. But real work rarely happens that way. You learn something. You try it. Building websites works like this. Running a team works like this. Even growing a business works like this. You can read about almost everything. But eventually, you need to deal with the messy version of it. The deadline. The client feedback. The unexpected problem. The thing that worked perfectly in theory but not in real life. Experience doesn't always give you the right answer. But it does teach you better questions. And over time, those questions become more valuable than having a perfect plan from the beginning. Sometimes the fastest way to learn is simply to start before you feel ready. Then pay attention to what happens next.

A keyword ranking can look very precise while hiding a lot of context. Two people searching the same local keyword can see different results. Device, location, search context, Maps and local search features can all influence what appears. An analysis of more than 8M search results after the May 2026 Core Update showed notable volatility across different search environments. So when reporting local SEO results, “we rank #1 isn't always enough. It's worth looking at: Where the business appears Which device it appears on Which search feature it appears in How consistently it appears Rankings are still useful. They just shouldn't be the entire local SEO report.
